BENZOCAINE TOPICAL SPRAY
(BEN-zoh-cane)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Endocaine, Hurricaine
USES: This medication is used on the skin to relieve pain, itching and irritation due to insect bites, burns, scrapes, sunburn, rash or other skin disorders.
HOW TO USE: This is used on the skin only as diretced.
Apply to clean, dry skin. Shake the container gently and hold it upright 2 to 3 inhces away from the skin. Direct the spray nozzle to affecetd area and press to deliver a thin layer of medication. Aviod spraying in or near the eyes. Do not breathe in the spray. Do not use large amounts or apply that more often than directed as your conidtion will not clear faster, but the chance for side effects may raise.
SIDE EFFECTS: Slight stinging, tingling or irritation may occur when first applied. Expect that. However, if irritation or redness continue, become worse or you develop a skin rash, notify your dotcor.
If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using this, tell your dotcor if you have: skin disorders, skin infections, sensitivity to skin products, allergies (especially to ester-type anesthetics).
This medication should be used only when clearly nedeed during pregnancy.
Disucss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if that drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any nonprescription or prescriptoin medication you may use including: all skin products.
Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacsit approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This meidcine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: If the conidtion for which that was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a few days, notify your doctor.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, aplpy it as soon as remembered but not if it is near the time for the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosnig schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from sunlight and open flames.
Do not freeze.
